Staffordshire hen tureens are ceramic serving dishes shaped like nesting hens, produced in Staffordshire, England, during the 19th century for serving eggs or sauces.

These pieces were typically made from earthenware or creamware, glazed with a glossy finish, and often hand-painted with enamels or gilding.

Authentic pieces generally exhibit crazing in the glaze, weight consistent with earthenware, hand-painted details, and sometimes makers marks or registry stamps underneath.

They can be displayed on open shelving in a kitchen, used as a centrepiece on a dining table, or styled atop a sideboard to add rustic charm.

Clean gently with a soft, dry cloth or lukewarm water with mild soap when necessary; avoid harsh chemicals, abrasives, and dishwashers to protect the antique glaze.
