FAQs

Art Deco emerged in France during the 1910s and flourished internationally during the 1920s and 1930s, characterised by sleek geometric shapes, clean lines, and opulent materials.

Makers frequently utilised exotic hardwoods such as walnut, macassar ebony, and rosewood, often enhanced with figured veneers, chrome accents, and contrasting inlay work.

Authentic pieces typically feature high-quality craftsmanship, solid wood frames with book-matched veneer patterns, original hardware, and construction methods consistent with the interwar period.

Pair the rich wood tones with minimalist seating, neutral walls, and metallic accents to create a sophisticated balance between historical craftsmanship and modern aesthetics.

Protect the timber from direct sunlight and moisture by using coasters and mats, and periodically nourish the polish with high-quality beeswax applied using a soft cloth.
