Georgian porcelain is characterised by neoclassical influences, refined potting techniques, and sophisticated hand-painted enamels, reflecting the elegance of the late 18th and early 19th centuries.

Derby porcelain factories utilised a specialized soft-paste porcelain formula initially, transitioning to bone china formulations during the early 19th century to achieve greater durability and whiteness.

Authenticity is typically verified through factory marks painted in underglaze blue, iron-red, or impressed into the paste, alongside characteristic throwing techniques and enamel palettes specific to the period.

Antique porcelain pieces can be displayed within glass-fronted cabinets, used as accent vessels on open shelving, or styled individually on side tables to introduce historical texture and colour.

Antique porcelain should be hand-washed gently in lukewarm water using mild soap, avoiding harsh scrubbing or dishwashers, and kept away from direct sunlight to preserve the overglaze enamels and gilding.
