Victorian inlaid rosewood envelope card table
This Victorian inlaid rosewood envelope card table was made circa 1885.
These envelope card tables are always an attractive item in the home and particularly good for playing bridge.
The top that is profusely inlaid with panels of urns and foliage to each envelope, swivels to allow a button to pop up that pushes one of the flaps up so that you can fold out each piece.
Once opened the button goes down to leave the surface flat, and you can then use the playing and the counter scoops.
Under the top there is a full width drawer with brass knob handles.
The Victorian inlaid rosewood envelope card table stands on tapering legs that have fine box stringing, and end on the original porcelain castors.
