George III Specimen Wood Games Table

18th century
Description

Circa 1810. A mahogany and specimen wood games table, the square lift out inlaid top with various exotic woods insert, framed within an inlaid border, enclosed a leather lined backgammon gaming board, flanked by similar hinged inlaid flaps above a frieze drawer with stylish oval escutcheon standing on square tapering legs terminating on castors. The reverse side of the lift out top is laid out as a chess board.
