Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

FAQs

A George II tea table is a piece of furniture dating from the reign of King George II (1727-1760), typically featuring a fold-over top designed to hold tea service equipment during the 18th century.

These pieces were predominantly constructed from solid mahogany or oak, often incorporating brass hardware such as swing handles and escutcheons, alongside traditional joinery techniques like dovetailing.

Authentic pieces exhibit period-correct hand-cut dovetails, timber shrinkage consistent with age, authentic patination, and traditional hand tool marks rather than modern mechanical fastenings.

An antique wooden table can function as a console in a hallway or be paired with modern seating to create a striking contrast between historical craftsmanship and contemporary minimalism.

Maintain antique wooden surfaces by dusting with a dry microfibre cloth, avoiding direct sunlight and excessive humidity, and occasionally applying natural beeswax to nourish the timber.
