Strictly Vetted Dealers

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. FAQs

Victorian card tables gained immense popularity during the 19th century as parlour games became a central feature of middle and upper-class social entertainment.

These tables were typically crafted from solid timbers like mahogany or walnut, frequently featuring decorative veneers such as burr walnut, supported by clever hinged folding mechanisms and turned pedestals.

Authenticity is determined by examining traditional joinery methods, hand-cut dovetails where applicable, patination of the timber, and original hardware such as brass castors.

Positioning the table against a hallway wall or behind a sofa allows it to function as a console surface while retaining its historical character.

Maintain antique wooden surfaces by keeping them away from direct sunlight and heat sources, and treat them periodically with traditional beeswax rather than modern silicone polishes.
