Very decorative and of a good size early 19th century gilt console table in the 18th century Adams style.
The proportions of this console give you the space to stand a pair of lamps or a large vase with a mirror or picture above, really is a lovely size for a large entrance hall.
The console table itself with its carved and plaster moulds with the draped garlands, tapered reeded legs and stretcher to the base give it a real elegance and the gilt itself has aged and distressed beautifully. You will see from the photos that the gilding has a lovely worn effect, so it’s perfect if you are not a fan of the fully gold gilt finishes.
The generously thick marble top has a verdigris vein running through it which works well with the old gilded finish and is shaped to match the curves of the console table.
