American Cherrywood Side Table

19th century
Description

A very original and well preserved cherrywood spider leg side table. It has a moulded edge top with a single cock-beaded drawer, turned slender supports and an 'X' framed stretcher base. The drawer has its original drop handles and a lovely folk art influenced shaker heart eschucheon. The drawer is are made from pine, with a cherry front .

New England, America, c. 1800

76.50cm wide 73.00cm high 50.00cm deep (30.12 inches wide 28.74 inches high 19.69 inches deep)

Current Condition

Very original, including finish and handles. There are some parts of the cock beading around the drawer missing. One section of the stretcher base has been replaced at sometime in the distant past.The lock is missing
