Table Side Tea Antique Small Occasional Mother of Pearl

Description

Papier Mache Victorian Table - Mother of Pearl - c1860

This table is a charming example of a Victorian tilt-top painted & inlaid ebonised side table.

The petal shaped tilt top is raised upon a tapered pedestal and over a jelly mould platform base with splay feet and castors.

The upper decorated surface of the piece displays wonderful Mother of Pearl inlay depicting classic Victorian images of flowers and birds. The pie-crust edging and highly detailed skirt show the quality of the piece.

The stylish base section is complete with original gilt detailing.

Overall this piece of furniture is a lovely size and very versatile. It is in good antique condition with light damage to the lower skirt area consistent with the age of the table.
