A beautiful, coromandel, octagonal occasional table circa 1860. The base is ebonised with fluted legs, joined by an x-stretcher on castors by Cope and Collinson.
Coromandel, sometimes known as calamander, is now very rare. It is one of the most decorative hardwoods used in cabinet making and is usually reserved for finer pieces.
