The Sheraton Revival style emerged in late 19th-century Britain, drawing heavy inspiration from the neoclassical designs of 18th-century designer Thomas Sheraton, characterised by refined proportions, delicate marquetry, and classical symmetry.

These pieces typically utilise solid mahogany or mahogany veneers over secondary woods, enhanced by intricate satinwood stringing, boxwood banding, and hand-cut dovetail joints on the drawers.

Authentic pieces from this late-Victorian or Edwardian era feature period-appropriate timber ageing, traditional hand-planed surfaces, genuine organic patination, and construction methods consistent with late 19th-century cabinetmaking rather than modern machine tooling.

Pair the classical warmth of the mahogany wood with contemporary minimalist decor, neutral walls, and sleek lighting to create a sophisticated balance between traditional craftsmanship and modern design.

Maintain the finish by keeping the timber away from direct sunlight and heat sources, dusting regularly with a soft dry cloth, and occasionally applying traditional beeswax to nourish the wood.
