Description

A wonderful antique Edwardian inlaid mahogany desk by Maple & co. This was made in England, it dates from around the 1900-1910 period.

It is of superb quality, with an elegant yet sturdy design. This sits on cabriole legs, there are inlaid satin wood borders around the top, drawer fronts, back and side panels. The inset leather top is hand coloured and tooled around the edges, it has a fantastic patina. There are lovely, intricate details on the brass handles, the back of the desk is nicely finished, so this can be used as a free standing item. The drawers have fine, hand cut dovetailed joints, and the Maple & Co stamp is seen on the drawer edge.

We have had this recently re-polished, the condition is excellent for its age.
