Victorian 10ft 12 Seater Mahogany Extending Dining Table C1870 (Joseph Fitter)

A Victorian period, large extending dining table, Circa 1870. This high quality, solid mahogany dining table, with oblong shaped top with slightly rounded ends and moulded edge. Plain frieze with lower lipped moulded edge, raised on well proportioned carved, turned legs, on brass cup castors with porcelain wheels. The top extends by way of double screw winding mechanism (Joseph Fitter, patent), winding handle, and three additional leaves.

Dimensions:

This table measures approximately 77 cm (30.25") tall, 304 cm (10') long extended, 149 cm (58.5") long unextended, and 137 cm (54") wide. The additional leaves measures 55.25 cm (21.25"), 52.25 cm (20.5"), and 51 cm (20") wide each.

Condition:

Please see the pictures for details of the items condition. - Overall this table is in good condition, commensurate with its age, and is structurally very sound and sturdy. There are some marks and blemishes, including a couple of scratches and bruises to the top. There is a small repaired piece in one of the leaves. There is a some variation to the colour in the leaves. The telescopic stretchers, mechanism and castors all work well and are good and straight. A little warp to the edge of a couple of the leaves. No loose joints. Well presented, with good patina and polish. Cleaned and waxed and ready for use. - As with all vintage & antique furniture there will be signs of use, marks, wear & tear, etc.

A 30-day return period is offered for peace of mind. Items must be returned in the same condition as supplied. Return transport costs are the responsibility of the buyer, and original delivery charges are non-refundable. Responsibility for the item remains with the buyer until it has been safely received back.
