Description

Beautiful little early 19th.c. mahogany fold over games table c.1830. A little smaller than most we see at just 32" wide. Stands against the wall as a console or side table then rotate and fold open the top to make a square table with an unusual patterned green baize centre for cards. Flame mahogany veneered top, note how the veneers are laid in a symmetrical pattern on the inside. Shaped apron with carved scrolling detail to the front. Raised on a lovely turned column and four legs all carved with acanthus leaf decoration. Mahogany lined compartment below the top for cards, playing chips etc. A few small patched repairs to the baize, otherwise excellent colour and condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
