This is a good quality antique English provincial Georgian oak side table, also known as an “Estate table”, with a single drawer, circa 1810, displaying a mellow honey oak colour, in excellent condition.
The table comprises a straight-edged two-plank mellow coloured oak top, above a single working drawer, with a cock-beaded frontage. The pine-lined drawer is constructed with butt-joints and incorporates a incorporates a Regency oval brass handle and backplate. The drawer runs smoothly and closes flush to the frame. The table stands on four simple block legs. The table retains the original top and backboard to the rear; the frame has been constructed in the traditional manner for that period. Ideal for use a side table in a hallway, or even a small writing desk. The table is solid in joint and ready to use.
Condition Report:
This is a good quality antique English provincial Georgian oak side table, also known as an “Estate table”, with a single drawer, circa 1810, displaying a mellow honey oak colour, in excellent condition. Nominal old use marks to the leading edges and cup marks to the top, but nothing significant considering the age of the item (see photos). The drawer is in good working order; it retains the original pine drawer linings and closes flush to the frame. The oak Estate table features the original top and backboard to the rear. The frame has been constructed in the traditional manner for that period. As the Estate table boasts the original polish, it has a fantastic mellow colour and patination. This country table is well constructed, solid in joint and ready to use.
