Antique William IV Rosewood Dining Table

Description

A fine example of a William IV period table in rosewood. This was made in England, it dates from the 1830-40’s.

It is of superb quality, with lovely carving on the edge of the oval top and a beautifully carved platform base. The design of this table, particularly on the base, with the octagonal baluster support & the shaping on the top of the platform, is typical of the William IV period. It also has claw feet with casters.

It is a great size, perfect for use as a dining table to seat six, or even as a centre table for a large entry way.

The colour tones and rosewood grain patterns are absolutely gorgeous, this has a lovely patina. The top is held in place with two bolts and a brass catch mechanism, it can be tilted up to save space as seen in the images. The top can also be completely removed for ease of transport.

We have had this recently re-polished, the condition is excellent for its age.
