An attractive English late 18th century elm and fruitwood cricket table. The three plank Elm top rests on a diamond frieze with three slightly splayed legs connected to a lower tier shelf with an angled gallery. The lower shelf base is made from fruit wood. The construction of the base is mortise and tenon pegged joints. The table is in wonderful untouched condition, the top has never been removed and the joints have never been apart. The pegs are slightly raised from the surface due to shrinkage. The underside retains its original bearer, which has never been removed and has a lovely oxidised patina. The table has its original untouched surface with honey and caramel tones.
The table has signs of historic worm, (now treated) and age-related shrinkage to the top and lower shelf.
