Description

A magnificent and very early antique marble top side table in gilt wood & gesso. We think this was made in France, and would date it from around the 1790 – 1840’s, but it’s very difficult to date exactly, because it’s so unique.

It is of amazing quality and is a lovely size. There are gorgeous floral details throughout, this sits on a tripod base. The construction is a mix of solid gilt wood and gesso on wire, there are various signs of age related surface wear and cracks to the gesso.

Overall this is in very good condition for its age, with an absolutely gorgeous patina.
