Early C18th Oak Oval Gateleg Country Dining Table (c17th, Jacobean, Carolean)

An early C18th, Queen Anne / George I period, solid English oak, oval top, gateleg dining table. With solid oak top, with twin drop leaves, each supported by a gateleg hinged within the substructure. The frieze with carved apron, one end with a single drawer with brass pull handle. The substructure consisting of ring turned and block supports with square stretchers, raised short bun feet. Possibly made from some older timbers. The plain end of the frieze, is stamped HM. Possibly meaning the table was commission for a ship; Maybe made from old ship timbers; Possibly a makers mark.
 
A charming table, full of character, with signs of use and minor repair but all very much in keeping and pleasing on the eye. Very much ready for use.

This table measures approximately 77 cm (30.25'') tall, 150 cm (59'') wide leaves up, and 48 cm (19'') wide leaves down, 130 cm (51.25'') deep.
