Pair Victorian Staffordshire Spaniel Red Wally Dogs Separate Leg Pottery Original

Description

Fine original pair of English Staffordshire pottery red separate leg spaniel dogs, circa 1860.

Good early hand press moulded examples with plenty of lively detail.

Black painted features, red mottled patched dogs with feint gilt lined collars and padlocks.

Good strong red enamel colouring, the gilt now a fine soft pale pink colour.

In good sound condition with no damage or repair, firing cracks to the seams as shown, typical signs of ageing.

Height 6,1/4" or 160mm

Gross weight 891 grams.
