Saint George & the Dragon Staffordshire Figure C1860

Description

This well-detailed VICTORIAN STAFFORDSHIRE FIGURE OF SAINT GEORGE AND THE DRAGON dates from circa 1860.

Saint George is on horseback, sword in hand, with the Dragon recumbent looking up from the ground.

This figure is illustrated in A & N Harding’s Staffordshire Figures Book One, Page 330, Figure 1213.

The Figure is in good condition with just two minor chips which are not visible from the front (one to the base and one to the tip of his cape). There is no restoration.

Height: 9.75 inches (28 cm)
