Rare Pair Of Staffordshire Figures Of Don Quixote And Sancho Panza

A fine and rare pair of Staffordshire figures depicting Don Quixote and Sancho Panza. Don Quixote is the larger figure, mounted on his horse Rosinante and wearing his rusty armour. The figure of Sancho Panza is the smaller, mounted on his donkey and looking rather downcast. The pair are beautifully modelled and decorated with titles to the base. The pieces are decorated in the manner of the Parr Factory and are likely from the John Parr period. The condition is very good with only the odd area of flaking to the black enamel on Don Quixote. A fine and rare pair of Staffordshire figures with a huge amount of period decorative appeal. C.1870.
