Pair Staffordshire pottery lions, Thomas Parr factory, c. 1860. Modelled as standing lions, with amusing expressions on their faces, set upon grassy mound bases, encrusted with flora.

The earthenware figures produced by the Thomas Parr factory in Staffordshire, are probably the finest of the Victorian era.

Height: 16.6 cm, 6 1/2”.

Width: 14 cm, 5 1/2”.

Depth: 6 cm, 2 3/8”.

Condition: Repair to a crack on the base of one lion, and to its legs. Otherwise excellent condition.
