Art Deco Teaset by Paragon China.

1900 - 1920
Description

Paragon China, was a name used by the star China works. They were based in North Staffordshire and went on to earn a royal warrant. As manufacturers of fine English China, for the British royal family.

This teaset was manufactured in 1925 and the influences of the Deco period are clearly seen in the precise conical shape of the cups. And geometric angles of the side plates and main platter.

The pattern name is “Iceland Poppy”

Cups 7cm tall

Saucers 13.5cm diameter

octagonal side plates 15cm across

Sandwich plate 25cm across the widest part

Jug

Sugar bowl

The pieces are all hand painted and the most exquisite double flower heads become the cup handles

Iceland poppies are painted on the inside and outside of cups, saucers and plates.

The conical form of the cups is accentuated by hand painted ascending sized hoops.

This item can be viewed by appointment in the shop or video call.
