Jean Born began as an industrial designer in 1908 under the name he created of Robj. He turned to designing more artistic and decorative items soon after WW1.
Robj though did not live to see much of this success, losing his life in a car accident in 1922.. Robj's designs were then brought to production by his business partner Lucien Willmertz who remained primarily responsible for promoting the Robj style into the 1930s.
Several prominent factories were employed in the production of the Robj collection including Manufacture de Sevres and Villeroy and Boch.
Art Deco And More has dated this piece to the 1930s.
