Description

Staffordshire pottery figure, c. 1840. Modelled as Napoleon seated on rocks, whilst in exile on St Helena. He holds a book in his left hand, whilst his sword, and cocked hat lay at his side. Set upon a circular base, with a single gilt line.

Based upon a lithograph by Marin Lavigne, ‘Napoleon at St Helena’.
