Bargeware, often associated with Measham pottery, is a style of lead-glazed earthenware manufactured in Derbyshire and Staffordshire during the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. Traditionally associated with canal boat families, these pieces feature dark brown glazes, applied painted floral reliefs, and personalised inscribed plaques.

Bargeware items were crafted from red earthenware clay coated in a dark brown Rockingham or treacle glaze.
