Description

A fine and rare Chinese porcelain teapot, James Giles studio decoration, c. 1765. The Qianlong Period teapot, finely painted at the London decorating workshop of James Giles, with vibrantly enamelled scenes of exotic birds, amongst flowering plants, in a landscape. Other birds, flying in the distance.

The cover, similarly decorated, with a bird perched upon a branch, with two further birds in flight. Surmounted with a tear drop finial.

Height: 13.5 cm, 5 1/4”.

Width: 21.5 cm, 8 1/2”.

Depth: 11 cm, 4 3/8”.

Condition: Glaze fritting to the finial - please see images for detail. No restoration.
