Description

This is a really charming Meiji period Japanese porcelain figure of a recumbent cat dating from around 1900. The cat is beautifully modelled, asleep wearing an ironstone red and turquoise spotted scarf with a gold bell at each side. He has lovely gilded detail to highlight his markings and a really characterful sleepy face. This is in perfect condition with no damage or restoration.

The cat measures 22cms by 17 cms by 10 cms high.

PROVENANCE: This was formerly the property of a Lady of title from her London residence in Kensington.
