Description

This is a lovely example of an early Staffordshire pearlware figure dating from around 1820. The figure shows a musician with his instrument, a hurdy gurdy, and is probably by Enoch Wood. There has been a little restoration to one corner of the square base, best seen in photo 4, but the musician himself is in beautiful condition. This Staffordshire figure is also known as 'Flemish Music' and all examples were after Ralph Wood. A similar piece is documented in the Schkolne Staffordshire Book Volume 1. The figure measures 23 cms by by 8 cms wide
