Delightful Antique Victorian Leaf Shaped Butter Boat by Samson (Paris)

Description

Antique Victorian leaf shaped butter boat by Samson (Paris), a famous copyist of leading porcelain manufacturers (this is a copy of a Worcester piece). Decorated with exotic birds and insects, it sits on four asymmetrical feet that are incorporated into the gilded leaf decoration to the base. The twig-like handle is flanked by two minute insects where it is attached to the scalloped and fluted body.

Perfect gilding and no damage in any way. Pristine in every aspect. Approx, 11cm x 9cm x 5cm.
