Fine Staffordshire Flat Back Watch Holder ‘three Graces’

Status: This item has been sold
Sold by: Prometheus Antiques

A fine example of Staffordshire flat back pottery, a watch holder modelled as the ‘Three Graces’. The figure is beautifully modelled with half detached central figure which was difficult to fire and abandoned in later examples. The decoration is superb with cobalt blue jackets and wonderful multicoloured skirts. The whole is in excellent condition, just the expected minor wear to the decoration in places. A truly great example of the type with a huge amount of charm. C.1860.
