Very Large Staffordshire Flat Back Church Watch Holder

A very large Staffordshire flat back watch holder modelled as a church or cathedral. The piece is beautifully painted in terracotta with gilded windows and multicolour flowers. The piece is in good condition for such a large piece but does have some losses of sprigging over the lower central arch and the same on the lower righthand side of the building. The whole has the most wonderful decorative impact and has to be one of the largest pieces of Staffordshire I have seen. C.1880.
