A very large and good quality Staffordshire flat back figure of a highlander with bagpipes and spaniel. The figure is particularly large and decorative, and with the dog is quite unusual. The whole is well painted for this later period figure and is in very good condition. It does have the typical glaze craquelure and some areas on the reverse where the glaze hasn’t taken in the kiln all not unusual. A great example of the type with a huge decorative impact.
