Lovely Victorian Large Cheese Dome or Bell with Both Painted and Transfer Decoration in Very Good Condition.

Description

Large and impressive Victorian cheese dome, dish or keeper, including dome and platter, for Stilton or other cheeses. With impressed leaf decoration to top of dome and edge of platter, and both transfer and hand painted decoration in striking colour to both pieces.

Size-11.75 inches wide by 9 inches high.

Weight-2.4 kilos.

A beautiful item to use or display, and having vent holes to dome.

With very minimal staining around edge and some crazing, in very good condition overall.

Usually both the dome and platter do not survive together in these antique pieces, and this is a very nice example.

Declaration

Serpentine Antiques has dated this piece to the Victorian era.
