Description

Sunderland pottery ‘Frog’ mug, Moore & Co. Pottery, c. 1820. Printed to one side, in black, and hand coloured, with ‘A East View of the Cast Iron Bridge over The River Wear, built by R. Burdon, MP’. The reverse, with a verse, within a floral wreath, surmounted by a ship.

Further decorated with pink lustre squiggled lines, and enamelled green bands to the rims.

The interior, with a large, open mouthed green frog.

Height: 12.8 cm, 5”.

Width: 13.5 cm, 5 1/4”.

Depth: 10 cm, 4”.

Condition: Excellent. No damage. No restoration.
