Fine Marked Pair Staffordshire Black & White Dogs C1840

Description

This FINE PAIR OF BLACK & WHITE STAFFORDSHIRE PORCELLANEOUS DOGS, modelled with separate front legs, bear the impressed letter 'V' to the underside of their front paw. This is possibly the Modeller's mark. They date from circa 1840.

The DOGS have good definition to their coats and well-painted feathering.

The condition is good. There is minor glaze grazing to the end of one tail.

There is no restoration.

Height: 5.5 inches (14 cm)

Width: 4.5 inches (11.5 cm)

Depth: 3 inches (7.5 cm)
