This is a magnificent Hannah Barlow bowl, made for Doulton Lambeth and date stamped 1880.
This stoneware bowl has a squat rounded, cylindrical form, sgraffito decorated with a farmer and cows. The incised marks, stamp and date on the base are clear. It is in excellent condition, except for a small crease in the silver rim.
The solid silver mount is hallmarked for Sheffield 1880, with the maker''s mark of Jehoiada Alsop Rhodes & Barber.
A useful sized salad bowl, which could also be used for a number of other purposes.
