Description

A fine Spode porcelain miniature basket, circa 1810. The fluted basket, having an entwined twig overhead handle. Beautifully painted, with sprays of flowers, on a cobalt blue ground, heightened in gilt scale, surrounding a central circular panel, painted with a rose.

Spode mark and pattern number ‘1166’, in iron red, to the base.

Diameter - 7.5 cm, 3”.

Height - 5 cm, 2”.

Condition - Typical minor wear to the gilt. No damage. No restoration.
