Meissen Group of Dancing Putti, C. 1750.

Description

A fine Meissen porcelain group, c. 1750. Vigorously modelled, as two putt dancing enthusiastically, both wearing draped robes, one of which is painted with Indianische Blumen.

Set upon an oval mound base, encrusted with flowering plants, and edged in moulded rococo scroll, heightened in gilt.

Underglaze blue crossed swords mark, and incised model number.

Height - 17.7 cm, 6 7/“.

Width - 10.2 cm, 4”.

Depth - 11 cm, 4 1/4”.

Condition - Typical minor repairs to fingers, and toes. Otherwise in excellent original condition.
