Pair Meissen Porcelain Figures, C. 1870.

Description

A fine and large pair of Meissen porcelain figures, c. 1870. Beautifully modelled as a shepherd and a shepherdess, with sheep and his dog, and dressed in 18th Century costume. Both figures standing before tree stumps, upon grassy mound bases, moulded with elaborate gilded scrolls.

Underglaze blue crossed swords marks to both figures, along with incised and impressed model numbers.

Height - 29.5 cm, 11 5/8” and 28 cm, 11”.

Condition - Typical minor repair to chips to extremities. Dogs tail, and one sheep’s ear.
