Description

For sale a fine Japanese Arita blue and white Cicada dish, dating circa 1690. Painted in deep inky tone of blue with a pair of Cicada within a floral scene, the border with pairs or various flower heads. This dish is of an uncommon pattern and is in perfect unrestored condition. Size 27.2cm diameter by 4.2cm deep.  some kiln grit adhesion to the foot rim.  A fine early piece.
