Description

For sale a rare pair of Chinese famille verte cafe au laite tea bowls, dating to the Kangxi period. Each decorated to the inside in underglaze blue with two birds around a central flower vase, the walls with prunus. The outside on a good cafe au laite ground further decorated in famille verte enamels of birds and floral rocky outcrops. Each bowl approx. 7.5cm diameter and 4cm tall.  Fungus mark to each base. 1 bowl with 1 rim chip and related hairline and some foot rim chipping, the other bowl with two rim chips and one inner foot rim chip.  A rare pair in this colour combination.
