Description

This is a stunning 19th century Berlin style porcelain plaque painted with the Madonna Della Seggiola after Raphael, dating from around 1880.

The plaque is in superb condition, expertly crafted in bold colours and mounted into an ornate Renaissance style gilt metal and painted frame set with numerous cabochons throughout the piece. The colourful cabochons are all present and in good order. The jewelled easel frame has some denting and is slightly misshaped to the outer leg on the right as shows in the photos. The colours of this piece are a true delight and it is a most charming and unusual icon.

The frame measures 10 cms by 6.5 cms overall to its extremities
