Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

During the late nineteenth century, prominent British potteries produced thematic sets of transfer-printed tiles depicting the twelve months or four seasons. Influenced by the Aesthetic Movement, manufacturers like Wedgwood commissioned artists to design detailed narrative illustrations that were mass-produced for domestic interiors.

These tiles were constructed from moulded earthenware clay bodies. A design was engraved onto a copper plate, inked with ceramic oxide pigment, pressed onto thin tissue paper, and transferred onto the unfired or biscuit-fired ceramic surface before clear glazing and final firing.

Authentic Wedgwood tiles feature impressed maker marks on the reverse clay surface, such as WEDGWOOD or WEDGWOOD & SONS, often accompanied by registration marks or painter initials. The transfer lines show high print clarity, and age-consistent fine glaze crazing is commonly present.

Individual tiles can be mounted in bespoke box frames to display as standalone wall art, placed on wooden easel stands upon a mantelpiece, or integrated into modern tiled splashbacks and fireplace surrounds as accent pieces.

Dust gently with a dry, soft cloth. If cleaning is necessary, use a damp cloth with mild soap, avoiding abrasive sponges or chemical cleaners that could damage the glaze, and never submerge unsealed porous earthenware in water.
