A Very Large Japanese Imari Charger Dating To To Late 17th Early 18th Century

For sale this very fine large Japanese Imari Charger dating to the late 17th early 18th century. Decorated in underglaze blue, enamels, iron red and gilt with a central roundel of Cranes in flight the wall and rim with panels of Shishi reserved in a lattice work design, incorporating birds and flowers and further gilt scrolls. Diameter approx. 54cm and 10.5cm deep. Rare and very decorative in this large size. Another pair of exact same design and dimensions were included in the Sotheby''s Amsterdam sale of Chinese & Japanese Ceramics and Works of Art dated 14th May 1997 lot 649.
