Good Signed Japanese Kutani Ware Stick Stand

Description

This a good, large and heavy Japanese Kutani stick-stand with attractive hand painted detail and pierced trellis-work to the top. The piece is signed to the base with a six character mark. The stick-stand dates from the 19th century circa 1890 and has wonderful hand painted decoration and gilding with birds in flight amidst peony blooms, in soft coral and ironstone colours. The stick-stand is a good size measuring 61cm high by 28cm in diameter. Good sound condition ( slight hairline on edge as photographed)

Rams Head Antiques is a family business based in Wolsingham in Weardale where we have had shop premises for 28 years. The shop is generally open every Saturday from 11 am till 3 pm.
