Description

This beautiful PAIR OF BILSTON ENAMEL CANDLESTICKS, with their original petal-shaped sconces, date from circa 1780.

Not only do the CANDLESTICKS have a wonderful silhouette but the flower painting is charming and the contrast between the ROYAL BLUE and WHITE is very pleasing.

As to be expected with ANTIQUE ENAMEL there are signs of wear and tear. Both CANDLESTICKS have signs of old restoration where the stems meet the bases. On one of the CANDLESTICKS there are signs of old restoration on the first ring below the cup and to the underside of the petals on the sconce.
