Description

A very rare Staffordshire pottery figure group, ‘St Patrick’s Day’, c. 1860. Modelled as a man standing on top of a barrel, playing a fiddle, with a young couple dancing to either side of him, on a grassy mound base. Decorated in underglaze cobalt blue, and overglaze enamels.

Titled in moulded lettering ‘ST PATRICKS DAY’, above a gilt line.

Height - 28 cm, 11”.

Width - 18 cm, 7 1/8”.

Condition - Perfect. No damage. No restoration.
